Baysting ONS Content Management and Publishing Policy

> HomePage

  1. Each member of the Baysting family history research group agrees to take due care and attention that their contribution of any research material or content (the “Content”) does not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of a third-party.
  2. All Content contributed by members of the group and all Content maintained by the group’s “closed” on-line support systems must be kept confidential to the group and each member agrees that they will keep their login details secure and confidential.
  3. All members also agree they will not publish nor make available any Content external to the group in any manner, either electronically or in paper formats. This is particularly important since to the extent that is appropriate, e.g. as part of the GEDCOM Viewing and Management system, each member understands that details of living persons will be included in the Content.
  4. A specific exception to item 3. above is that certain Content will be made available to the general public via the on-line support systems using 'open' Wiki pages but this Content will always be on topics of general interest and will not contain any details of any living person.
  5. Another specific exception to item 3. above is that designated reports and presentations (the “Family Materials”) will be created and agreed by members of the group, and specifically identified within the group’s on-line support systems, to be made available for sharing on a confidential basis with direct family members. Each group member agrees that only these Family Materials will be made available in this manner to direct family and that neither they, nor their direct family will release them into the public domain, publish them externally in any way on the internet or otherwise, or share the content with any third-parties, or use the materials for any business advantage.
  6. Another specific exception to item 3. above is that other designated reports and presentations (the “Published Materials”) will be created and agreed by designated members of the group, and specifically identified within the group’s on-line support systems, to be made available for external publishing in ways agreed by members of the group. Each group member agrees that only these Published Materials will be made available externally and that they will not use the materials for any business advantage.
